'fullscreen' action from custom window?

I've got a custom window with video containers, video is playing in background. I've tried multiple methods to use 'fullscreen' onback but none seems to work.
I was able to hack this using <previouswindow> but it's not a great solution.
(i don't want to unload the window, just toggle back and forth fullscreen and customwindow)
ideas?
