hearing both navigation sounds and window sounds

In home i can navigate with basic action sounds but navigating to the left or right opens other windows that have sounds assigned to them but as a result if I navigate left or right I hear both the sound from the nav action and the sound from the window opening.
How can I eliminate the sound from left and right actions,  but ONLY when its opening a window?
